Literature Text

The summer heat beams down upon my face
Each ray dances and sparkles through my hair
Right outside my house, to a grassy field I race
Lay absolutely content beside the pink flowers, small and fair
I let the grass caress my face, the breeze kiss my cheek
Thoughts of past summers cross my shallow mind
Memories of my mother and the dishes she made
However the thing I loved most about summer was her pink lemonade
Her image, it still crosses my mind, selfless, gorgeous, and kind
In the summer nights her comfort I would seek
But now she is gone, why couldn't she have stayed
Now the only thing to remind me of her is her pink lemonade
Believe it or not, I based this whole poem off of a colored pencil. ;)
Hope you like it :)

Oh yes, this was def. worth a shot.
Great poem and one could think the writer went through that.
And that's what good poems are about: They make the reader believe, think and feel.
